Welcome to ETHOS (Ethical Oversight Submission System), the University of Minnesota’s web-based platform for IRB submissions.
An ETHOS upgrade is scheduled to go live in October. ETHOS will go offline on Friday, October 6 at 5:00 p.m. and will be back online on Monday, October 16 at 7:00 a.m. Please note that this downtime start is one business day earlier than previously anticipated.
Most of the changes to ETHOS will affect the “look and feel” of ETHOS. However, studies that are reviewed by external IRBs will undergo substantial changes to functionality and organization. Resources will be available to assist with this transition.

The IRB offers monthly ETHOS learning labs via Zoom, which include an overview of ETHOS followed by opportunities to ask questions, learn navigation tips, and apply new skills. Learning labs take place the second Thursday of every month from 12:00-12:45 p.m. Registration is not required, just click here to join.
